My favorite spot at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens is the
Japanese Garden.
It is a beautifully designed space with weeping cherry
trees
surrounding a picturesque lake.
It includes a quaint little building
and some interesting Japanese sculptures.
These cherries are the earliest bloomers in the park so
they are a very welcome site after the winter.
It's also the place I remember best from my childhood
visits with my grandparents.
And as you can see from these photos, which were taken over
several years,
it looks quite different each spring depending upon both
the way the weather breaks
and the lighting conditions on that particular day. So it's always fun to photograph.
Enjoy!
