Notre Dame 2

For the first time since 1803, Christmas mass was not celebrated in Notre Dame Cathedral.

Such a shame.

They are of course still trying to recover from the tragic fire in April 2019 that destroyed the 850 year-old icon.

Recovery efforts have been hampered by a variety of issues including toxic gasses,

thanks to the melted metal spire.

The biggest issue at the moment seems to be the fact that the scaffolding that was erected for the restoration that was in progress when the church burned,

has welded together into 250 tons of twisted metal.

Obviously it needs to be removed and a crane is currently being built to aid in the process.

Macron has promised a new Notre Dame in five years.

That may be a tough promise to keep.

Here is a previous Notre Dame blog...

Cheers!
