It's finally done.
After 7 weeks and a day. It's
hard to believe that redoing a 5 x 7 bathroom could take so long.
The Property Brothers rebuild entire houses in that
time.
But then again they don't have to deal with the rule of
co-ops, which limit work to weekday business hours.
And yes, it is black & white. A bit radical I guess.
But I couldn't bear the thought of a white, grey or beige
bathroom.
And Edward was willing to trust me, so we thought we'd go
for it.
He did have a moment of self doubt just before we began
construction, but I reminded him that it wasn't really a black bathroom since
the largest items in it were white.
As it turned out, the room is so small that it's really
50/50 black and white, and not at all dark as we had feared it might be.
I had forgotten that lesson from art class - the dark walls
recede against the white fixtures and make the room seem larger.
Isn't that a nice bonus. :-)
