Halloween in the hood – Titanic edition

 

The 2026 Halloween wars of the Upper East Side have begun. 

And the competition is already fierce.

Check out this Titanic themed beauty,

on 64^th Street between Madison & Fifth Avenue.

I thought it was water-proof because it survived an epic downpour earlier this week.  But then I read that someone covers everything when it rains.

And I’m pretty sure they have a full-time guard.

I have to wonder why they went to all the trouble, but I’m glad they did.

Maybe I should bring them some candy on Halloween to thank them,

or dress up and try to crash their party.

I have a sailor suit.

Illuminated Kylemore

This piece from the Illuminated Ireland series features Kylemore Abbey in Connemara.

 

Built in the late 1800’s by Mitchell Henry to honor his wife, until 2010 it was an exclusive boarding school.  These days it is strictly a very picturesque tourist attraction run by Benedictine nuns.

Little Island: Fall 2025

When I photographed the High Line during the fall a few years ago,

 

I could see that Little Island was looking good too.

So, I made a mental note to check it out in the fall at some point.

And in 2025 I did.

But I didn’t post any pics on this blog.

What can I say?

Fall in NYC is so beautiful, it’s hard to choose what to share.

And apparently, these did not make the cut. 😉

But, some of them are gorgeous,
