Halloween in the 'Hood

Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays.

Who doesn't like wearing fun costumes and eating candy?

Apparently some of my neighbors share my enthusiasm.

To show their support they decorate their brownstones.

All of these photos were taken on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, in the East 70's.

Some of the decorations are tasteful,

others are really over the top.

It makes me wonder what kind of candy they hand out on Halloween.

There's an element of keeping up with the neighbors involved of course.

One women I met decorating confessed that she wasn't going to bother until she saw this place several doors down!

Trick or Treat!
