Collaborating with Tim - #1 Empire State Building

My friend Tim Baynes is an amazing artist.  He does beautiful pen and ink drawings with watercolor washes.  I have always admired that style, so I am a huge fan.

But as it turns out, Tim is a huge fan of NYC - go figure. ;-).  So he has been turning some of my photos into artwork.  How cool is that?

It's hard to find a unique take on the Empire State Building, since I and everyone else have photographed it to death.  But I was at a meeting in the neighborhood, looked up and saw this.  So of course I took the shot.

Then I realized that if I shifted around a bit I could include the lamp post.  So I took this shot.  It is of course a winner.

So it's no surprise that Tim chose to immortalize it.  Awesome, huh?

Woodstock

This year is the 50th anniversary of Woodstock -

the iconic 60's rock concert held from August 15 - 19, 1969 in nearby Bethel, NY.

While it may have been billed as an "Aquarian exposition,"

this is one Aquarius who was too young to go at the time.

So we decided that we would celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary by visiting Woodstock.

It's a pretty little crafty type town - similar to New Hope, and well worth a visit.

This year in honor of the anniversary they have added artist painted guitars to the scene.

They will be on display until Columbus Day when they will be auctioned off.

When I saw this photo our friend Jeff took of us, in the "Fifteen min of frame," I said that it reminded me of American Gothic.

So Edward created this meme.  :-)

Happy Anniversary my love!

Cheers!
