My friend Tim Baynes is an amazing artist. He does beautiful pen and ink drawings with watercolor
washes. I have always admired that
style, so I am a huge fan.
But as it turns out, Tim is a huge fan of NYC -
go figure. ;-). So he has been turning
some of my photos into artwork. How cool
is that?
It's hard to find a unique take on the Empire State
Building, since I and everyone else have photographed it to death. But I was at a meeting in the neighborhood,
looked up and saw this. So of course I
took the shot.
Then I realized that if I shifted around a bit
I could include the lamp post. So I took
this shot. It is of course a winner.
So it's no surprise
that Tim chose to immortalize it.
