I was lucky enough to get over to the park several times this fall to enjoy the yearly show.
And what a show it was.
But of course it didn't get that way by accident.
So hats off to Fredrick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux ,
who won the design contest in 1853 and created this
gem.
The next time you visit and you round a corner and come
upon a beautiful vista you can thank them and their team for their incredible
vision.
But that was over 150 years ago,
so we also need to thank the many wonderful people that
have tended this beautiful 843 acre garden since then.
Undoubtedly their handwork can be seen as well in the
wonderful juxtapositions of trees of different colors and shapes.
It truly is awe inspiring.
Thanks
to all!
