This
spring/summer I haven't been taking my usual trips to the NYC gardens.
By the
time I got my act together we were into our hot hazy 90 degree summer weather.
Not
exactly my cup of tea. So I dug into the
achieves to get a flower fix.
I came
across these pics when I pulled the ones from the Air & Space Museum in
Washington D.C. to celebrate the moon landing.

They are from the U.S. Botanic Garden in Washington D.C.
It's a
lovely collection, especially the lilies and orchids in the greenhouse.
It was
founded in 1816.
Not
surprisingly Thomas Jefferson was one of its biggest supporters.
But so
were George Washington and James Madison.
No wonder it's so terrific.

sure to put it on your list the next time you visit. ;-)
