On July 20th, 1969, Apollo 11 landed on the moon.
I remember it well.
I was at summer camp, and we were allowed to stay up late
to watch the historic event. ;-)
Since we were the youngest campers we got to sit upfront on
the floor in front of the benches,
as we all huddled around a small black and white
television.
And watched Neil Armstrong walk on the moon.
A shout out to Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins too.
To quote Neil: "That's one small step for man, one
giant leap for mankind."
These pics are from the Smithsonian Museum in Washington
D.C.
It's well worth a visit.
Happy
50th Anniversary.
Cheers!
