UES Architectural close-up

In May 2020 when NYC began phase one reopening after Covid-19 lockdown

I began taking long walks around the neighborhood to enjoy my new freedom.

I was afraid to ride the subway or go inside, so it was my best option for exercise.

Since I'm only a few blocks away from the Upper East Side Historic District

a walk in the hood is like visiting a museum.

I've photographed it many times before -

usually when it's draped in holiday decorations, spring flowers, or a blanket of snow.

But this time I was more methodical, making sure I got a chance to enjoy all the details that make the UES both historical and beautiful.

I feel very lucky to live here.

I bet these folks do too. ;-)
