Sadly, it rained on the parade this year.
You’ve got to love the irony.
We’re in the midst of our worst drought in 20 years and when
it finally does rain it picks parade day.
Bummer.
But all was not lost.
I braved the mild temperatures and festive crowds the day
before the parade and checked out the floats and balloons on Wednesday.
The set-up was very confusing.
And I never did figure out how to get to the front of the
line to watch the balloons being blown up.
But watching the floats being built was delightful.
The crowd gave a big cheer when these guys accomplished their
task and landed the pumpkin perfectly.
All in all, it was so awesome I may have to do it again next
year – weather permitting of course. 😉
