Orchids 2

We set the clocks ahead today, so spring can't be far behind.  

And when it comes, both New Yorkers and flowers will burst to life.  

But until then, we have orchids.

They're everywhere this time of year -- even the local supermarkets. 

I guess after a long winter, which this one certainly was, 

it's nice to look at something blooming, even if it is only an indoor plant. 

These are from the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens.

They have a lovely conservatory

that houses all sorts of exotic plants.

It's one of my favorite places to visit in the winter when I am yearning for spring -- which can't be long now, (I hope).
