New York City has some beautiful crabapple trees.
I tend to group them in with the cherry blossoms because of
their similarities in appearance and blooming season.
But that's really unfair to the crabapples,
which are so pretty that they deserve their own blog.
So, I am giving them one now.
These beauties are from The Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
There are some lovely varieties in the NY Botanical Gardens
in the Bronx too.
Both sets of trees bloom slightly ahead of the cherries,
so if you visit a bit too early for the latter, you can
still enjoy the former.
Something to look forward to next spring.
Here's
a previous blog of cherries and crabapples...
Cheers!
