Central Park Fall 6

We have had a terrific fall in NYC this year.

It got off to a slow start, with only yellow trees because it was too warm out in September.

But then it cooled down in October and the orange and red trees came to life.

Even better, although it has gotten cold enough to turn the trees beautiful colors,

 with one notable exception,

it hasn't gone below freezing so the leaves have stayed on the trees.

It made for a particularly spectacular marathon at the beginning of the month.
Unfortunately, the one exception was a 6 inch snow fall earlier this week that took down a tremendous amount of branches throughout the neighborhood.

They now sit in piles on all the side streets waiting to be carted away.

Funny enough they had actually trimmed the trees on First Avenue the week before.

So the damage didn't look too bad from my window.

But when I went out the next day I was stunned.

I'll bet the owner of this car was too.

Here are some previous Central Park fall blogs...

Cheers!
