There's
a new exhibit at The Met.
It's a
wonderful display of Rock & Roll instruments - mostly guitars - mostly
borrowed from their famous owners.
Many
were used to record iconic songs. And
others show the wear of a well worn friend.
Some
are unique, altered by their owners to allow them to make a specific
sound.
There
are costumes and artwork too.
Also
some fascinating videos of the artists talking about their gear.
It
goes without saying that some of the instruments were true pieces of art. So even if you aren't a Rock and Roll fan,
it's worth a visit.
But if
you are a fan, it's a must see.
The
exhibit is open until October 1st so there's plenty of time to visit.
I will definitely take another look before
then. And post some more photos for
people who won't be visiting the city in time to see it.
Lucky
strike extra - when I arrived I couldn't resist taking this shot. Edward liked it so much that he said he would
link his Facebook to this blog if I included it. :-) I think it's pretty fab too.
Here
are some blogs of previous Met exhibits.
The Michelangelo exhibit last year is their current record holder for
most visitors...
Enjoy!
