I have read some articles lately about all the really amazing things that artists have
been doing with origami.
Most
of the press has been focused on very fluid and intricate folding based on mathematics.
So
when I read about the origami art exhibit at Cooper Union I decided to go check
it out.
I was
not disappointed.
Not
only did the show include some amazing swirly sculptures,
it
also had some very avant-garde clothing!
But I
was especially delighted to see that the exhibit still included lots of
critters
which
I tend to think of as traditional origami.
But of
course it was done with an artistic twist, so instead of just having animals
they had animals interacting with each other.
Sadly
the exhibit closed on July 3 so you won't be able to go see it, but I will post
some more pics soon.
Cheers!
