Rome

I was 15 the first time I saw Rome.
It was my first trip to Europe.
I used my babysitting and waitress earnings

to fund the school trip over my spring break.

Since I have loved history, art and architecture since I was in the single digits,
I couldn't wait to see it all in person.

But my real inspiration was my maternal Grandfather - Louis Stern.
He was an intrepid traveler and photographer.
He would return from his trips with a beautiful slide show and so many funny stories.
He also gave me his change, which I thought was really cool, even after I found out that you couldn't exchange it.
And then, there were the presents.  I still remember how much I loved this outfit.
Cheers!
