I've posted a few blogs about Salzburg and some
included photographs of the wrought iron signs there.
But since they are unique I thought I give them
their due,
and post a blog focusing entirely on them.
The tradition began with guild signs in the middle
ages,
but these days all businesses have them.
Why not? They're fun.
The best place to sign-watch is The
Getreidegasse.
Since it's also the biggest shopping street right
in the middle of the old town,
it tends to be on everyone's
list.
But signs can really be found throughout
Salzburg. Look at the iron work on this
one!
And this one for a florist is my favorite. A pre-emoji!!!
Here are the previous Salzburg blogs...
Cheers!
