On
September 13th the Hudson Yards subway station on the #7 line opened at 34th
and 11th.
Everyone
was very excited.
You
would think that with all the things going on in New York City it wouldn't be a
big deal.
But
for New Yorker's it was, because it's all about convenience.
Before
it opened you had to walk from the subway stop at 34th and 8th to get to that area.
It
took about 10 minutes.
It
didn't matter that much when the only thing out there was the Javitz
Center.
But
then they moved the Bolt and Mega buses there
and
opened the last part of the High Line, and suddenly it was a problem.
Hence
everyone's delight in the new station, which has beautiful mosaics as you can
see.
