First Day of Spring 2018 in Times Square

The other day I heard a guy on the street say: "It was a mild winter until March 8th."

That pretty much nailed it.

Because we had 4 nor'easter storms in March this year.  The last one on the first day of spring.

To put it in perspective, in NYC nor'easters are worse than hurricanes.

Usually their saving grace is that they are rain.  But this year we had mostly sleet.

It was such a shame because it even looked pretty while it was falling.

But in Manhattan it didn't stick.  So I didn't get a pretty snow day to photograph. :-(

Not that I didn't try.

These pics are from Times Square during the fourth storm on the first day of spring - March 21.

It wasn't a record breaker.  But it was still a weird way to begin the season.

Cheers!
