East River Greenway

We've been on lockdown since March 12th.

It hasn't been too terrible, because NYC was having its usual cold rainy spring.

But yesterday was spectacular -- mid 70's and sunny.

I was starting to get cranky so it was time to dig out a mask and go for a walk.

Since we are only a few blocks away from the east river I decided to check out the East River Greenway.

It's a strip of park between the FDR and the east river.

Thanks to Mayor Bloomberg's vision (we miss you!) eventually the greenery will circle Manhattan.  Pleasing cyclers, joggers, dog walkers, and people just looking for a quiet place to eat lunch.

At the moment they are still making deals with the UN and various other land owners to make it happen.

But as you can see the views are already wonderful.

I just wish they could do something about the traffic noise.  Next time I visit I will need to bring headphones.

Cheers!
