Kilkea Castle

We are in the middle of a global heat wave.  It's 100 in Rome, 90 in Bassano, 96 in NYC.

Although it was 104 in London, I had a feeling that Ireland might be the place to go for relief.  It appears that I was correct as it is 73 and partly cloudy today.

Doesn't that sound delicious?  Of course when we visited in July 2001 it was precisely because it would be in the mid-70's and dry.

It's nice to see some place is surviving global warming.

Our trip began with a visit to the lovely Kilkea Castle - now Kilkea Castle & Golf Resort.

We stayed in the castle. ;-)  It was a hoot.

The grounds were lovely.

With both formal gardens and a very picturesque golf course.

There were some ruins to explore and even a fairy tree.

It was a truly remarkable place to visit.  And now it has a spa.  Hmm.
