Last Monday I went down to midtown to check out this year's
holiday decorations.
Temperatures reached a balmy 55 degrees so the streets were
packed with tourists walking into traffic.
I heard one little boy ask his dad - "Is it always
this crowded?" To which his dad
replied - "No. It's usually
worse."
It made me smile.
I am sure that Manhattan is a real trip if you are from
rural Iowa.
One problem with being a native is that most of the
decorations are the same year to year.
So I am always on the lookout for something new.
This is the first year that I noticed the Cartier
cats. It makes me wonder - why
cats?
But who really cares as long as they are this
photogenic?
This was also the first time I saw this pretty tree on 6th
Avenue.
But I think I will need a new plan for next year.

Cheers!
