The Chrysler Building

My good friend, the amazing artist known as @timbaynes requested some photos of the Chrysler Building for future artwork.  You can check out his blog here...

I was only too happy to comply as I have been taking long walks for exercise while I wait for my pool to reopen.

And I am a bit tired of photographing UES brownstones, birdhouses and construction workers.  :-)

The weather decided to cooperate providing bright blue skies and these pretty little clouds positioned just perfectly.

So these pics pretty much blow away any of the other ones I have taken of the Chrysler Building in the past.

It was a good time to get a definitive look because the neighborhood has been rezoned and taller buildings - like One Vanderbilt - will soon be hiding it from view.

For now however the two buildings are dancing together.  In this view from Tudor City it looks like One Vanderbilt is due north.

But from 42nd street the opposite appears to be true.  They are of course both on 42nd Street, separated by Grand Central Terminal.

One thing is sure.  The Chrysler Building is a classic.  One Vanderbilt, not so much.

Does this eagle look a bit judgmental to you?

Cheers!
