Good news! The zebras on the run in Maryland have been caught.
In case you missed the story, in August three zebras escaped from an exotic animal farm in Maryland.
Sadly one died when it was caught in an illegal snare trap. But the other two have been enjoying their vacation in the Maryland suburbs for the past four months.

As you might imagine the locals were tickled pink by their appearance.
They were closely followed on social media, and someone even started a parody account for them on Twitter...

Many enjoyed their surprise backyard sightings and were rooting for them to stay free.
But then a second zebra on the property died and the owner was charged with three counts of animal cruelty. So the story took a sad turn.
Hopefully though the zebras are back with their herd and are wintering happily in a warm place.
Hearing about their journey and recovery reminded me of my last zoo visit in San Diego before Covid. So I thought I'd post another round of pics.
