NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2023

Friday was a great day. There’s nothing like a parade to put everyone in a good mood.  Beer helps too.

It wasn’t quite warm.  But it was warm enough to bring out the revelers.

Lots of pent-up demand 😉

Sadly, there are no floats in the Saint Patrick’s Day parade.

And not all of the marchers are used to walking a couple of miles.  I overheard one saying “Only six more blocks to go.”

But most of the participants were up to the challenge.

Even the one whose drum was bigger than he was. 😊

And of course, the crowds were more than happy to don their favorite green.

All in all, it was a great start to spring.

Now all we need is for it to get a bit warmer out and NYC is really going to go nuts.  I for one, can’t wait!

St. Patrick's Day 2018

Yesterday was St. Patrick's Day and a good time was had by all.

It's the second best day of the year in NYC after the marathon.

Usually there's a touch of spring in the air.

But it was 28F degrees this morning when the parade began at 11:00!

Luckily by the afternoon it had warmed up to the mid 40's.

So there were plenty of interesting outfits to check out.

People in NYC love dressing up and will do so on the flimsiest of excuses.

But I am sure that social media has impacted the trend as well.

The parade had the usual bands and things.

But what caught my eye was this sign at the end.  I guess there is such a thing as too much happy.

I hope you had a great day too!
