It's so hot this summer that the best chance to see flowers is probably by visiting greenhouses.
If you are in the Washington D.C. area I would highly recommend the U.S. Botanic Garden.
It has a lovely collection of orchids,
and a pretty pond surrounded by lilies.
They encourage people to take casual photos for their personal use.
That's always a big plus in my book.
For those of us who don't live in the area,
