Washington D.C. 2

I've been thinking about Washington D.C. often lately.

Ever since the insurrection on January 6, 2021.

Wow.  First a pandemic, then a riot in the Capital.

An attempt to disrupt the transfer of power.

The Founding Fathers must be rolling over in their graves.

It was horrifying to see the violence in real time. And the images, like those of 9/11, will be with me forever.

We need to put everyone responsible in jail for a very long time.  Protesting is one thing.  Sedition is another.  When did people become too stupid to understand the difference?

I found myself thinking about the time that we toured the Capital in September 1994.  And watched the sunset from the steps afterwards.

I hear that the gates that they have put around the building to protect it are likely to remain.

It's so sad that I won't get to take photos like this one again - nor will anyone else.
