Collaboration with Tim #35 – The Met roof

If you visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art, aka The Met be sure to take a trip to the roof to check out the NYC skyline.  It’s very different now then it used to be, with the recent addition of the “Talls.”

It’s a pretty popular spot, so it’s always a challenge to get people-free pics.  Instead, I usually just try to minimize them and include only those who enhance, rather than diminish the photo.  I thought that this masked up couple fit the bill so I went for it.

Imagine my surprise when I saw that Tim opted to put more people in his version!!!  Different strokes for different folks as the saying goes.

Here are some previous collaborations with Tim.  And you can follow us on Instagram at @pjlehrer and @timbaynes…

Old Tree

Pamela Rosenkranz’s sculpture “Old Tree” is currently on display at the High Line.

Since it doesn’t have a bad angle, I thought I’d devote an entire blog to it. 😉

Of course, it’s actually the same from every angle. It’s the surroundings that change!

There are ultra-modern skyscrapers of course.

And old-school warehouses from the neighborhood’s previous life.

Framed by plants.

Featuring the High Line.

Empire State Building.

Even a reflection.

Definitely worth a visit.

Times Square at night

I rarely shoot at night.

But a while back we landed in Times Square at dusk and I was struck by how pretty it was

so I made a note to return with a better camera at some point.

Unfortunately I picked a balmy summer Saturday night to visit, so it was packed.

There was definitely a Disney vibe with lots tourists and babies in carriages.

And, it was so crowded it was a bit difficult to shoot.

I might have to try again when it’s a little cooler out.

Meanwhile though, I think the dusk pics were better than the night shots,

so I will need to keep that in mind too.
