The Olympics in Paris are wrapping up.
They had a new event this year – Breaking.
Apparently while it started in the Bronx it is now a
world-wide phenomenon.
Proof positive – the gold medals were won by Phil Wizard from
Canada and Ami from Japan.
Yes, they use their stage names when they compete. How cool is that?
Victor for the U.S. did score a bronze medal. Hats off to him.
I thought in honor of the occasion I would post a set of pics
of some breakers in Times Square.
I lucked out and was close enough to both see and photograph them, and the crowds they attracted.
During the competition the announcers explained that one
of the goals of the sport is to make sure that every pose they make is
beautiful so that if you took a flash-freeze photo at any time it would look picturesque.
No wonder I love watching them.
